Where your location and birth information actually go
The short version: the saved profile stays in this browser. Using the application sends selected sky coordinates and time to our calculation service. Personal readings add two locally calculated natal indices. Lookups contact the named external providers below.
Birth profile
When you save My Sky, Vedic Sky Clock writes the profile to this browser's local storage under vedic-sky-clock.birth-profile.v1. The record can contain your optional name, birth date, birth time, chosen birthplace, latitude, longitude and time zone.
It is read back by the browser when you return so the personal sky can be recalculated. It is not uploaded to a Vedic Sky Clock user-account database because the current product has no such profile backend.
Selected current place
Your current sky place is stored in local storage under vedic-sky-clock.location.v1. It includes the selected label, coordinates, time zone and whether the place came from device location or a manual search.
That saved place lets the app reopen on the same local sky rather than asking for location every time.
Small local helper records
Birthplace search results and resolved time zones can also be cached in local storage under Vedic Sky Clock keys. This reduces repeated calls to third-party services. Clearing this website's stored site data in your browser settings removes those helper records as well as the saved profile and place.
Teaching and first-run choices
Teaching preferences are stored under vedic-sky-clock.teacher-profile.v1. The first-run choice uses vedic-sky-clock.first-run.v1. These records also belong to this browser and are removed when you clear this website's stored site data.

Local-first does not mean offline
Vedic Sky Clock does not send the complete saved birth profile to its own profile server because there is no application profile server in the current architecture. Reading requests do transmit the minimised values listed above to the private calculation service. Application code does not persist these request bodies or include them in analytics. Your browser also communicates with hosting and lookup providers. During maintenance, these static pages make no reading requests.
External providers can receive technical information such as your IP address as part of an ordinary internet request and apply their own privacy policies.
